My introduction post with information regarding the questions posted about learning pod self-reflection questions
What is your preferred mode of remote communication?
My preferred mode of remote communication is one that everyone checks frequently and can effectively convey thoughts and ideas. Email is nice to reach out about important topics, but texting, Discord, or teams have worked better in the past to communicate back and forth.
What are your communication strengths?
The strengths in my communications definitely come from being open-minded to hear out questions, concerns, and ideas others bring into the environment. Being able to agree with others and settle on one idea while I might consider something else has never been an issue. I feel that settling on something the whole group is comfortable talking or writing about is important. Other than this, being able to reach out to others and ask if they need help, getting updated on everyone’s goals and progressions, and reaching out to instructors is something I commonly do.
What are your communication weaknesses? Where would you like to grow?
My communication weaknesses come from lacking ideas in some cases or adding onto conversations. I often feel as if my ideas are less.
Do you consider yourself and introvert or extrovert?
I would definitely consider myself an introvert. I struggle in some cases to initiate conversations or even add on to what others might be saying, and I always pick the communication option where less involvement is needed.
What time zone are you in?
Pacific (PST)
What time of day do you prefer doing academic work?
I like starting my work at around 11 a.m. until the afternoon, depending on how heavy of a workload I have.
When you are upset do you tend to share this with others or keep it to yourself?
I usually keep things to myself and eventually reach out if something has been consistently occurring or if others feel the same. For example, a group member may not be completing their work on time or may not put effort into group work.
What do you like about group work?
Being able to split up tasks so that everyone has an easier time is always a nice part of group work, and you can more effectively get work done with the input and help of other peers.
What don’t you like about group work?
Something that I dislike is when other peers do not think about other members time and hand in assignments late. Additionally, they are not communicating effectively and providing a low-effort contributions.
What else would you like your team to know?
I can’t wait to meet and start working with everyone!
